Video of the week #1: February & Knost

It's happening. Every Wednesday, one surf clip worth your ten minutes. Kicking off with Mikey February and Alex Knost, On Earth.

Remember when we watched surf films on cassette? A good one was hard to come by. You leaned on mates and your local Blockbuster, but if you lived it, you remember. These days it’s flipped. YouTube is firehosing clips at us and it’s impossible to keep up.

Today, we’re introducing Harper video of the week.

Every Wednesday, one video. No top-ten lists, no algorithm sludge, just a single clip that made us stop scrolling and sit through the whole time. Edits, sections, short films, the occasional old gem that deserves another look.

If it’s on here, it earned it. Worth noting this is all about lifestyle, so we’re not only sharing surfing movies, but also everything related to our passion: the ocean.

Kicking off with a good one.

Mikey February & Alex Knost, On Earth

A remote coastline nobody’s queuing for, and barrels with real weight behind them.

February, born in Cape Town and a former WSL championship tour surfer, has one of the most beautiful styles in modern surfing. It’s all flow, drawing lines deep in the tube like he’s got nowhere to be.

Knost goes the other way, experimental, odd-angled, doing things on a board most people wouldn’t think to try. The camera work keeps up with both of them. Wide shots from the sand, water-level frames inside the barrel, close POV pieces that follow them through the tube and out the other side.

Watch it for the surfing. Stay for the pacing. This is what a rest day is for.
